My 5 Best Blogging Tools for SEO, Content Creation and more

best blogging tools

I have been blogging since 2008, first it was on blogspot.com where I used to document my day to day activities, my random thoughts during my college days. In 2015 I shifted to self hosted blog, hence www.pinkcolumn.com was born. To help out the new bloggers I have listed down 5 best blogging tools which I use the most to maintain the blog. Here they are:

1. Google Analytics

If you are serious about your blog and want to know the details of your audience, I suggest you to link your blog to Google Analytics. Free GA gives you lot of options like knowing the audience source, traffic source, which post is popular and from which city you are getting your traffic from and more. The insights will help you in planning your posts in a better way.

2. Canva to make better creatives

I used to use PicMonkey for editing images for my blog and then I got introduced to Canva.com. This tool is free and is very useful in designing social media posts, making creatives, presentations, infographics and what not. With Canva you can be your own graphic designer. I make all my creatives on Canva.com

I have also stumbled upon 2 sites; Paperless Post this site has wide variety of pre-loaded templates which you can edit as per your use. This will be helpful in designing personalized stationery, new years greeting card for your blog readers, launch events announcements etc. Other than a blog, you can use it for more personal use.

The second website is https://www.designcap.com/ helping you to make posters and flyers for free with pre-loaded templates.

3. Grammarly

You can install chrome extension of grammerly and enable it. This helps you in writing better articles without the grammatical and spelling errors. I suggest you to use your mind also instead of completely relying on this tool, if using a free version.

4. Yoast Seo

Install Yoast Seo tool on your wordpress website. This really helps in targeting keywords on which you want your post to rank on. Though Yoast Seo tool you can actually see the keyword density, set focused keyword, and see the readability score and SEO score of your post.

5. Unsplash

UnSplash is a directory of free photographs, You can use the high-resolution good quality images from Unsplash.com in your post by giving credit to the photographer. I use Unsplash images while writing my personal thoughts. Other than UnSplash you can also check pexels.com, this is also a good site for sourcing images.

These are my top 5 tools which I use self-hosted to maintain my blog. Other than these I also recommend Google Webmaster, SEMrush or Ahrefs and yes activate your Adsense account if you are planning to monetize your blog. These were my best blogging tools, hope you find this post useful! see you in 2019 🙂
