How to Protect Your Skin in Summers

It’s 29th March and looking at the heat you can say “Hello” to summers. Heat can cause damage to your skin and you must be googling “How to protect your skin in summers”. Based on personal experience I have listed down 5 summer skin care tips which will help you protect your skin in summers.

  1. Hydrate yourself:

High temperature will leave your skin dehydrated. Heat will take away your body fluids leaving you feel tired and dehydrated. It gets necessary to drink at least 8 bottles of water and maintaining the hydration level. If you are hydrated enough then your skin will also look good.

  2. Exfoliate for clearer and smoother skin:

Exfoliation removes dead, dulling skin debris to prevent congestion and improve hydration from toners and moisturizers. After you exfoliate, follow with a hydrating body cream to seal in moisture, and always shield freshly exfoliated skin with an SPF.exfoliate

  3. Use a toner:

A skin toner will keep the pores closed and keep the skin cool. You can try rose water as its natural cooling properties are excellent for summer. You can opt for Dabur Gulabari or Patanjali one. There are lot many brands available in the market.

  4. When in doubt, apply (and reapply!)

Sunscreen provides you protection only for 4 hours. Reapplication is required whenever you are moving out. Depending on your skin opt for a gel or water based sunscreen lotion and don’t forget to reapply it.

5. Protect your skin:cover with scarf

Don’t forget to carry an umbrella or a cotton scarf whenever you are moving out. Cover yourself while stepping out and this will help to protect you from harsh light.

Jaipur, the ‘pink city of India’ is known for its royalty and wonderful monuments. Not to forget you can drive your bohemian vibes from this city too! Jaipur has lots of shopping destinations of which you can read about on the internet. Apart from having monuments this place is a shopper’s paradise.  We have listed down 5 items that you must shop if you are in Jaipur. You simply can’t resist buying these items. Here we have listed  5 things to shop in Jaipur, India.

1. Leheriya/Bandhej/Kota Doria Cotton Saree:

Jaipur is very colorful and is known for its royalty. The rich culture pretty well reflects in the colorful leheriya sarees. I am sure you can find leheriya print in your or your mother’s wardrobe. If you already have one then you can opt for bandhej or kota doria cotton sarees. They are the specialty of Rajasthan. I picked 2 kota doria cotton saree for my mom from Rajasthan handloom.

2. Kolhapuri Chappal:

Kolhapuri’s originated from Maharastra and are available throughout.  You can Kolhapuris with a rajasthani touch in the local markets here. They are superb in terms of quality and price to what we get here in Delhi. I picked these for Rs.150 after bargaining from Pandey market near Hawa Mahal.

3. German Silver Jewelry:

You can get silver jewelry at Paharganj, Delhi too but why not pick it straight from the artisans. I picked these beautiful kadas for Rs. 800 and they came with a warranty card.

Restaurant Review: Soda Bottle Opener Wala, Noida

After visiting this place more than 10 times I thought of reviewing it on the blog. If you are missing Mumbai food and want to try out Parisian cuisines then you are welcome to visit Soda Bottle Opener Wala at Noida. It is located on 3rd floor, Mall of India, Noida.

When your taste buds are tired of Delhi food and you want to go experimental after watching too many recipe shows. You should move towards this place.  Soda Bottle Opener Wala is every Irani cafe’s 21 st century makeover- it’s their cousin that returned after a stint abroad. Eating here is an experience you must not miss.

Ambiance:

From outside it looks like an old cafe which is nothing jazzy nor painted with bold colors. The moment you step in you will be taken back to old Mumbai. You will see soda bottle handing and displayed on one wall then there’s another which has quirky messages written on it. Music played is of 90’s reminding you of your childhood. Have a look:

Menu:

For a newcomer, menu will definitely look confusing but their staff is super supportive. They will explain you each dish and will offer their recommendation. Food is served in the old style tiffin box and on china bone plates.

What we tried: Maska Pav, Egg Kejriwal, Salli Chicken, Dhansak, Boneless chicken Farcha, Berry Pulav, Patra ni Mach and sikanji.

What we recommend: Maska pav, Dhansak (if you are fond of dal), Berry pulav (This is interesting combination of rice topped with dried berries and cashews) and not to miss Patra ni Mach.

Salli Chicken is tangy in taste so if you are someone who prefers spicy chicken then avoid this items.

Disappointment: Sikanji, yes don’t be surprised. Their twisted version of sikanjji wasn’t comforting for my taste buds. You may like it.

What’s new there:

Now they have started serving beer which was missing earlier and they have new menu.

Meal for Two: a proper 3 course meal will cost you around Rs.2000+ approximately.

Here’s my rating:

  • Ambiance: 4.5/5
  • Food: 4.5/5
  • Price: 4/5, it’s affordable.
  • Service: 4.5/5
  • Overall Rating: 4.5/5

If you haven’t been there then check this place out on this weekend.
